I wasn’t out of my mind psyched to see the third iteration of this comic book movie franchise. It was an inevitability on my summer list. I couldn’t have have been more surprised to find it the best of the 3. It’s strategy is counter intuitive for a sequel. It doesn’t feel super-sized. This is avoided by sending Tony Stark on an out of his element road trip where he encounters a a de facto sidekick. A young boy helps him out of his predicament by showing him he can be a Hero on a budget. Stark’s arc in this is driven by the PTSD he bears from the Avengers New York City conflict. He ultimately discovers his value comes not just from the strength his of his armor, but the joy he had in inventing it. I won’t reveal the film’s conclusion except to say when working with technology, always have multiple backups.I wasn’t out of my mind psyched to see the third iteration of this comic book movie franchise.
